Malta’s tourism industry today is more diversified, less seasonal and dependant on mega tour operator business

It faces a new set of challenges highly influenced by the international scenario, particularly what goes on in Europe and the Mediterranean. Air routes frequencies to major European cities and towns in addition to other destinations in North Africa have been increased thereby making Malta that much more accessible to host leisure groups, more so towards city breaks specifically in winter and  shoulder months.

Malta is an ideal destination to attract a mix of visitors that can make use of the spectrum of the niche offerings and products that the Islands offer. The milder climate in Malta makes it an ideal destination for niche groups and its strategic position in central Mediterranean creates realistic opportunities for groups to visit the islands  rich cultural heritage.
